Soy is a subtropical plant, native to southeastern Asia. The medicinal parts used are Soy lecithin extracted from Soy beans, Soy oil and Soy seed, which contains phospholipids. Soy has been shown to have also a very high concentration of isoflavones, especially genistin and daidzin. 

Soy and Soy extracts have been used for support during menopause. Consumption of Soy protein has also been linked to heart health.
