Rose hip is native to Europe, North Africa, and temperate areas of Asia. Historically, Rose hips have been an important food for native tribes. The fruits (hips) is the medicinal part used. Rose hips contain high concentrations of vitamin C. Other constituents present in Rose hips include carotenoids, flavonoids, and polyphenols.

Rosehips have been used as a source of vitamin C and therefore thought to support the immune system. They have also been used to support digestion.
