The part used medicinally is the fruiting body and cultured mycelia. The active triterpenoids from Reishi are mainly ganoderic acids.

Reishi mushroom has been known to relieve coughs, as a well support heart and spleen heath. It has known as a tonic to strengthen the body and immune health.
