In the Middle East, Olive leaf tea has been used for centuries.

The primary constituent of Olive leaves, oleuropein, is believed to be responsible for many of the therapeutic properties of Olive leaf extracts. Although oleuropein is present in the olive fruit and oil, content in the leaf is significantly higher than in other parts of the tree.

Olive leaf extract has been known as a source of antioxidants and to support normal blood circulation and blood pressure.
